Hey guys
I've really got to start coming on here more, I just get busy and forget. No guarantees I will come back, but I know writing is a stress reliever for me so I'm sure to be doing some of that in the coming months, when I have time. Plus, I miss you guys!
In a week, my entire life is going to change (hence the no guarantees.)
Next Wednesday, I move to my dorm room, and begin COLLEGE (dun dun duuuuunnnn)...
I'm a biology major, and I'm pre-vet. This is all pretty terrifying for me, to be honest. I've got my whole life ahead of me, and I'm really just praying that I don't fuck it up.
I'm working on finding my rescue pup a foster/forever home before I leave, she is with the awesomest rescue now so I'm not too worried. I'm definitely going to miss her though, she's been my favorite foster for sure.
Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure I'm going to go into withdrawals this year; I'm required to live in the dorms all year where there are...
NO PETS ALLOWED D:
I'll be working with rescues and whatnot to get my fix, but it will be weird not living with them. Well, next year I'll find an apartment and be able to foster again
Has anyone here read 50 shades of gray? I haven't, but I've heard a lot about it. I have it as an e-book, but I couldn't get past the first page. Present tense writing bugs me, for some reason. Does anyone else have that problem?
I've been working on Deal Gone South, and as my sister threatens me daily in case I was considering not finishing it, I think it's pretty good. When it's finished, would anyone consider being a beta reader? (They have those... Don't they?)
For now I've stopped working on In the Dark, I've been writing that in third person but I don't think that's the right narrative form for this, so I'm probably going to switch.
The short stories will be coming back, my problem lately is that I don't want to leave them as short stories, I want to make them bigger. What led Belinda to go into the closet? Is there a reason Jimmy wanted to go to the park? What happens next? These are the questions that lead to things like Deal Gone South, a short story that began with the phrase "I wish, I wish I was a fish", and took off with a mind of its own. It's madness I tell you, madness!
So, if I can get past the "CONTINUE!" minefield, there will be short stories to come. Stay tuned!

I'm Going To College, Yo!
Still working out the details (you know, that pesky little thing known as financial aid...) but I'm going to CSU in August :D
I'm going for their vet program, so I can treat rescue animals.
Yes, I'm still writing, currently working simultaneously on "In The Dark" and "Deal Gone South" and I have most of the plotline finished for both of them. I think they're both pretty good, if I do say so myself, and hopefully I'll write the whole thing this time :)
Kimba, my little rescued pup, is going to be looking for her new home soon- I'm happy and sad about that, but it's the best thing for both of us.
Well, those are my updates, how are your li
Nanowrimo
Hey guys ^^
So, I'm not doing too well with my nano novel (Working title: In the Dark)... I think I've got maybe 2,000 words so far? That's about the necessary word count for day one so... yeah.
I guess life just gets in the way sometimes; I'm helping my sister out, dog sitting, dealing with random crap... So I haven't had much time to write.
Never fear! I will have at least two uninterrupted days in which to commit myself to my craft, so word count tracker, here I come!
Also, I wrote a scene of another story, so I'll be posting that in a few minutes...
That's about it, hope you all are doing well!
With love,
Valerie
Guess what?
Guess who's doing NaNoWriMo this year? That's right, me! :D
I'm hard at work on "The Harpy", which I told you last time was called "Azalea Book" and has changed to "Lysandra Book", for now, but I think I'm getting close to choosing an actual title ^^
Obviously I haven't started the actual writing, since it is going to be my NaNo novel, but the plot is coming along nicely in my outline notes. I'll probably post the synopsis for you guys soon, if you'd like to read it.
I haven't worked on Coded for a while, I'll probably get back to it after I've finished the trilogy, or possibly intermittently while I'm doing that.
I haven't done any po
Hiya :)
Hellur :3
It's been a while (again... I know, the beginning of these are getting kind of repetitive so let's just skip to the good stuff).
I graduated (a year early) at the beginning of June, so no more high school for me! :D I had planned to go to college this year, but that has been put off until I'm more financially (and many other ways) stable.
My sister is in the process of leaving her (abusive) fiance, and she is pregnant with twins. I'm her pregnancy buddy, so I go to all of her appointments, get her what she needs when she needs it, etc.
I have a dog to take care of, but there are a lot of complications there that I'm not going to
